About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the Wind operating fleet, focusing on in-field troubleshooting and return-to-service efforts
Partner with site teams to return turbines to service and train newer technicians on troubleshooting practices
Travel within the US fleet to support company-owned and third-party contracted sites on advanced troubleshooting, pilot initiatives, de-rated turbines, and complex repairs
Diagnose faults and repair equipment safely and efficiently
Support pilot projects evaluating new equipment, tools, and processes
Assist with deliverables and contractual obligations while interfacing with internal and external parties
Prepare and implement operating procedures compliant with company, customer, industry, and regulatory standards
Support high-voltage switching as needed
Identify, document, and communicate operational and quality improvement opportunities
Obtain, compile, and analyze information for proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs
Work with minimal oversight while providing technical expertise and professionalism
Lead, assist, and work alongside technicians on operational and contractual duties
Perform on-the-job training with site technicians
Evaluate and supervise contractor repair work related to returning equipment to operation
Perform QA/QC inspections across the fleet and provide feedback on best practices and improvements
Manage personal travel arrangements
Work on a rotational schedule of four weeks away from home followed by one week off

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of wind turbine experience
Accomplished and proven troubleshooting ability
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
Ability to climb ladders without assistance and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet)
Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds)
Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding worn equipment/gear during job-related tasks
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
Willingness and ability to travel 100% for four-week intervals, followed by one week off
Preferred: GE wind turbine experience
Preferred: Knowledge of CMMS (EAM)
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Proficiency with GE Toolbox ST, GE Webpages, SCADA, Visu-pro, and CMS systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Safety-sensitive position requiring drug testing and a negative result before beginning work
