About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure the company complies with all Brazilian tax and legal obligations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax filings, including monthly VAT and withholding tax returns and annual corporate income tax returns.
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure the accuracy of purchasing records used to prepare monthly tax filings.
  • Maintain a tax compliance tracker to ensure all obligations are met and filings are submitted on time.
  • Review agreements and contracts to ensure they are recorded and reported correctly.
  • Support the monthly close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Support the annual financial statement audit by preparing workpapers, audit schedules, and audit reports, and by communicating with management as needed.
  • Research and analyze the impact of current and new tax regulations in the country.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in consultancy, accounting, tax, or audit roles
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
