About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The da Vinci Cardiovascular Sales Manager plays a critical role in identifying, validating, and managing the surgical adoption of cardiac procedures for the da Vinci Surgical System.
  • Partnering with Marketing, Sales Leadership and staff in Clinical Sales, Capital Sales, and Key Accounts, the manager will identify and develop surgeons, cardiologists, team members, and executive Key Opinion Leaders to pioneer and expand the use of the da Vinci System for cardiac surgical procedures.
  • Expand current cardiac users across the DACH region to total practice adoption with da Vinci.
  • Identify and validate high-potential leads through commitment, unfettered access, procedure volume, executive support, clinical backing, and directional data in the cardiac space.
  • Own and execute all four phases of the new da Vinci Cardiac Technical Training Pathway, resulting in surgeon and programmatic sustainability.
  • Build da Vinci Cardiac Reference Centers that demonstrate clinical, economic, strategic, and operational impact.
  • Develop new comprehensive Cardiac Programmatic Development Centers that include surgeons, executives, and cardiologists who can articulate the clinical, economic, strategic, and operational impact of da Vinci Cardiac.
  • Create da Vinci Cardiac awareness in strategic markets using resources such as data, technology, referring physicians, executives, and peer-to-peer engagements.
  • Recruit and develop Surgical KOLs who can teach, proctor, and share their clinical experiences through peer-to-peer engagements.
  • Recruit and develop Cardiology KOLs who can teach and share their clinical experiences through peer-to-peer engagements.
  • Recruit and develop Executive KOLs who can teach and share their programmatic experiences through clinical and financial analyses of their current cardiac programs.
  • Launch the da Vinci ECOSYSTEM to all da Vinci Cardiac surgeons for programmatic development: training, simulation, digital tools, data analytics, and new technology.
  • Develop autonomous surgeons, teams, and programs for da Vinci Cardiac.
  • Develop and maintain highly technical and clinical expertise with the da Vinci Surgical System platform and procedures to position yourself as an expert in supporting cardiac surgeons and surgical teams, starting specifically with IMA (internal mammary artery) harvest, mitral valve procedures, and other relevant operations. Serve as a dedicated cardiac resource for all Intuitive business partners, aiding in validating surgeons, programs, and business opportunities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the MIDCAB and MVR disease states to ensure the ability to discuss diagnostic tools, ancillary equipment, and techniques that address minimally invasive surgical options.
  • Educate and train Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) on the safe and effective use of the da Vinci Surgical System to improve their robotic surgery techniques and capabilities.
  • Lead and develop care teams through training sessions, helping them understand system operations, safety, OR integration, clinical applications, and digital tools to be effective in pre-, intra-, and postoperative system management.
  • Serve as a dedicated resource to surgeons, cardiologists, surgical teams, and executives to integrate the da Vinci System into new and existing customer sites and ensure ongoing commitment to the system.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and service activities on the da Vinci Surgical System as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in a science or business discipline).
  • Minimum of 5 years of medical device experience required.
  • Cardiac clinical experience required.
  • Proven track record of high sales achievement in previous roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop KOLs and Reference Centers using QTI data.
  • Proven capability to collaborate across functions and work effectively within teams.
  • Ability to solve problems, manage complexity, and work in a changing environment.
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Strong clinical selling skills and the ability to build credibility with a highly educated customer base.
  • Established record of sales excellence.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%, depending on account distribution.
  • Fluency in English and German is required.
