About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support NPI supply chain resources for new product introduction
- Provide leadership, program management, strategic sourcing, local and regional sourcing
- Create strategies benefiting the company for the near term to 5+ years
- Lead new product cost targets and project milestone dates
- Identify suppliers integral to mission expansion
- Review suppliers and provide guidance to commodity managers
- Improve time to market and establish optimal inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with purchasing SOPs, DOPs, and SOX requirements
- Establish new product departmental goals and productivity improvements
- Mentor commodity managers, program managers, and buyers
- Develop key supplier relationships for new product launch
- Oversee supplier forecast communication for visibility
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum BS degree or equivalent BE, B.Tech, MS
- 8+ years of experience in purchasing management in a new product environment for high complexity products
- 5+ years of management experience in medium-sized manufacturing organizations
- Highly proficient in MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP and Agile
- Working knowledge of Kanban systems and other Lean material handling methods
- Detailed knowledge of supply chain & sourcing strategies, material planning, master scheduling, and forecasting
