About the role
- Lead a team supporting early adoption of Intuitive’s next-generation robotic platform.
- Ensure clinical users transition from initial training to proficiency and mastery, accelerating adoption.
- Serve as strategic bridge between early clinical users, cross-functional development teams, and internal commercial partners.
- Shape platform success through evidence generation, procedure development, training pathways, workflow optimization, and customer experience.
- Build, mentor, and manage Clinical Applications Engineers; establish performance standards, career development, and coaching.
- Allocate team resources to balance procedural coverage, training demands, and initiatives including support of clinical studies.
- Oversee and provide direct procedural support at new clinical sites; partner with field sales and education teams.
- Develop and standardize best practices for procedural workflow, troubleshooting, and adoption including training pathways.
- Collaborate with Clinical and Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical Research Engineering, Training & Education, and Commercial teams.
- Provide feedback and insights to engineering, marketing, and program leadership to inform product improvements and training curricula.
- Contribute to platform adoption strategy, identify barriers to uptake, and propose solutions.
- Represent Clinical Applications Engineering in internal and external forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, life sciences, or related healthcare field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of clinical/technical experience in healthcare, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing teams.
- Experience supporting highly complex medical technologies in clinical environments.
- Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity, set strategy, and deliver results in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to influence across functions.
- Must be available to work full-time and commute Sunnyvale, CA as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 50–60%, including nights and weekends as needed; must be located near a major airline hub.
