Support market’s existing clients while championing initiatives to grow Interpretek’s ASL interpreting services regionally and nationally.
Work in collaboration with the Vice President of Interpreting Services (VP-IS), Director of Interpreting Services (D-IS), and Coordinating Services Manager (CSM) to support operational and strategic objectives.
Make recommendations to VP-IS and Senior Leadership for growing market share, improving client experience, and driving interpreter recruitment.
Foster positive client relations and actively seek new opportunities by attending trade shows and community events.
Exercise consistent client outreach, follow-up, and relationship development.
Contribute to performance evaluations of staff supporting assigned markets.
Participate as an active member of the RFP team to support business development and community outreach initiatives.
Provide oversight and management of timely client contract renewals.
Assist with onboarding assessment and requirements for independent contractors (IC’s).
Attend and contribute to coordinator and job board team meetings for various market areas.
Engage in local on-site community interpreting and occasional VRI interpreting assignments.
Participate in the “On Call” rotation responding to after hour inquiries and providing assistance.
Other projects and occasional travel as assigned.
Requirements
Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with Interpretek’s core values, standards, and industry best practices, and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct.
BA/BS degree required.
RID Certification required.
5+ years of experience as an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter in a variety of settings preferred.
Excellent communication skills required (both verbal and written).
Previous client services and business development experience strongly preferred.
Membership in an interpreting-related professional association preferred.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and outstanding client service skills.
Proficiency in computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage client escalations in a timely and professional manner.
Willingness to enhance management and interpreting skills through continued education and training.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Maintain, as applicable, compliance with any national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements.
