About the role

  • The Data Engineer will be a foundational member of our data team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • This role sits on a small & scrappy Data team and reports to a Director of Data under the Technology org.
  • Interplay Learning is an EdTech company using VR and simulations to teach the trades.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional experience (could be from an internship).
  • We are also open to considering mid-senior level candidates if the pay range aligns (see below).
  • Comfort with Python, especially for extracting data from APIs.
  • We use dagster+dlt.
  • Production experience with orchestrators like dagster or airflow, and data transformation tools like dbt.
  • Preferred strong SQL and data warehouse management experience. We use BigQuery.
  • Have a software engineering mindset and toolkit - git, testing, code reviews.
  • Bonus points for experience with CDC pipelines.
