Power BI Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create intuitive, high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports that translate complex datasets into actionable business insights.
- Write and optimize DAX to create complex calculations and measures
- Optimise data solutions for performance and scalability, making recommendations where appropriate.
- Develop best practices and standards for BI processes and documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Manage and optimise the Power BI Service environment (workspaces, gateways, and refresh schedules).
- Validate reports and data outputs against.
- Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years’ experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and solutions.
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts, models and relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills working independently and collaboratively.
- Validate reports and data outputs against defined business metrics and KPIs
- Support UAT and ensure consistency with source data
- Aptitude to quickly understand information, business models and requirements.
- Able to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Automate and/or Fabric).
- An understanding of Power BI development pipelines.
- Experience working in a financial services firm.
