About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the ALTOUR travel operation outside normal working hours
- Assist customers whose travel has been disrupted or who need urgent travel bookings
- Fulfil last-minute and urgent travel bookings for Corporate, Media, Entertainment and Contractor clients
- Answer client calls and emails politely, efficiently and professionally
- Provide expert advice across all aspects of travel
- Maintain the customer service level provided by the day team
- Communicate effectively as part of an efficient internal and external team
- Issue, re-issue and recalculate international and domestic airfares
- Source cost-effective worldwide routes and book flights, rail, hotels and ground products
- Provide additional quality control for day-team processes when call volumes permit
- Analyse global travel risks and communicate relevant information to senior management
- Create and provide traveler-tracking reports for clients during major events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of a GDS, ideally Sabre; cross-training available for the right candidate
- Fares & Ticketing Level 1 & 2, or equivalent experience, essential
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good geographical and destination product knowledge
- Good knowledge of airlines
- Awareness of world events and their likely travel implications
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Flexible approach and willingness to develop innovative travel solutions under pressure
