About the role

  • Provide support and assistance to advisors in booking air, hotel, car, and all supporting services
  • Research, track, and escalate queries to resolution
  • Provide coverage (approximately 80-90%) for independent advisors while they are on vacation or otherwise unavailable
  • Provide general office support and assistance on special projects (approximately 10-20%)
  • Book air, car, and hotel, in addition to invoicing and ticketing, using the SABRE reservation system
  • Provide support services to Advisors and assist Advisors servicing corporate accounts
  • Adept at using the internet to research destinations, accommodations, travel advisories, reviews, and costs
  • Deliver extraordinary customer service; greet customers with enthusiasm and provide consultative service throughout the booking process
  • Complete all reservations accurately and timely; prioritize daily tasks including ticketing, invoicing, and accounting
  • Handle customer service issues directly with appropriate vendor(s) to achieve resolution
  • Serve as back up to Advisor Assist desk; support Paid Services on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist with researching and correcting Agresso errors and assist with special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a full-time travel agent, booking domestic and foreign travel
  • Proficient native Sabre with 5+ years of experience including GDS formats, short cuts, enhancements, pricing, ticketing and exchanges
  • Second GDS experience of Worldspan or Travelport is a plus
  • ClientBase knowledge a plus
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with little or no guidance; knows when to escalate to a leader
  • Good understanding of key GTC initiatives and good communication skills
