About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the primary care occupational health clinic in Fairbanks and provide information about services
  • Promote safe patient care and excellence in customer service

  • Schedule appointments
  • Ensure the patient check-in/check-out process runs smoothly
  • Navigate electronic systems for quality assurance of patient charts

  • Maintain confidentiality of protected information
  • Assist with customer relations and provide division support
  • Support special teams and committees with administrative tasks
  • Assist in ensuring standards of care, standards of practice, Code of Ethics, and policies and procedures are followed
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Help implement new ideas and more efficient approaches
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school education required
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs preferred
  • Previous experience working in a front desk/office receptionist position
  • Experience in occupational health and/or primary care
  • Experience in a high-volume medical practice
  • Ability to manage phone lines and triage calls
  • Ability to schedule appointments and manage patient check-in/check-out
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to navigate electronic systems for patient-chart quality assurance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to set priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected information
  • Ability to pass federal-panel pre-employment drug testing, physical exam, background check, and motor vehicle report
  • Ability to perform work involving walking, standing, stooping, sitting, assisting with patient positioning, and some lifting
