About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain data network hardware and systems, including Azure and Cisco on-premise networks
Investigate and resolve significant network and hardware issues
Research, analyze, isolate, and resolve errors
Assess and evaluate current and future systems
Monitor the IPS system for network intrusions and respond to incidents
Keep IPS systems and signatures up to date
Design on-premises and Azure Government cloud networks according to project requirements and architectural principles
Develop and monitor key network metrics for IT reviews, reporting, and monitoring
Implement VPN, firewall-rule, and web-filtering changes
Perform hardware and software upgrades for Cisco switches, Check Point firewalls, and F5 load balancers

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years designing, building, and operating networks
5+ years of Check Point security experience
5+ years of Cisco networking experience
10+ years in IT
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or equivalent
Four additional years of experience in network security engineering may substitute for the degree
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches experience
Check Point firewalls and intrusion prevention experience
F5 load balancers experience
Microsoft Azure networking, including virtual networks, routing, subnets, ExpressRoute, VPN, and Network Security Groups
Knowledge of routing, VLAN, subnetting, load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, and SSH
Script experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar is a plus
Must be a US citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain Tier 3/Level II IT Security Clearance
English required; any second language preferred
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Ability to manage multiple competing demands
Comfortable with ambiguity
Self-starter and goal/results focused
On-call/after-hours support as needed
