About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review current processes to identify improvements and propose new processes
  • Analyze data and prepare reports of complex transactions.
  • Participate in the monthly close and related reporting cycles.
  • Prepare / review reconciliations.
  • Significant participation in redesigning processes.
  • Successful ownership of assigned reconciliations with minimal supervision in 3 months.
  • Diligence in identifying areas of improvement.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university with one of these (or related) majors: Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Master’s degree or CPA / CA / CIA / CFA certification desired, but not required.
  • Understanding of internal controls frameworks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex reconciliations with multiple components.
  • US GAAP familiarity.
  • Intermediate Excel and working knowledge of Access.
  • Conceptual knowledge of the following will be helpful, but not required: PL/SQL and VB.
  • Track record of successful project management.
  • Excellent analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic and often-times ambiguous environment.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, be a strategic thinker and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to work independently under tight accounting deadlines and know when communication/escalation is appropriate.
