About the role

  • Grow and nurture a network of host companies across APAC with a strong focus on Tokyo
  • Build meaningful relationships and expand employer partnerships to create internship opportunities
  • Oversee the full B2B lifecycle from new outreach to ongoing account support
  • Balance business development with relationship management, including site visits and feedback sessions
  • Work closely with participants to guide the internship matching process and ensure excellent experiences
  • Lead the full placement process and manage a pipeline of student applicants
  • Execute localized outreach and in-person trust-based engagement (cold & warm outreach)
  • Achieve monthly business development goals via LinkedIn, email, phone, events, and networking
  • Build partnership ecosystems and referral schemes with companies, associations, chambers of commerce, and expat communities
  • Conduct research, discovery calls, tailored presentations, and onboard new partners
  • Track placement rates, satisfaction, and outcomes; identify and implement improvements for retention and processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in B2B business development, sales, or account management
  • Strong track record delivering results individually and as a team
  • Excellent face-to-face networking and relationship-building skills across different cultures and industries
  • Fluent in English (Japanese highly desirable)
  • Strong commercial awareness and organizational skills
  • Results orientated with strong attention to detail and target-driven
  • Entrepreneurial spirit — highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a remote-first environment
  • Work authorization to work in Japan; must not require sponsorship
  • Home office space and a personal computer to work from
