About the role

  • Freelance Linux Embedded Engineer for an ongoing IoT project
  • Sole Firmware Engineer taking full ownership of the embedded side
  • Work directly with US-based client
  • Bring up new platform and adapt embedded Linux stack (Yocto/Buildroot)
  • Ensure device readiness for a demo in early October

Requirements

  • min. 3 years of experience in embedded systems development with C/C++
  • hands-on experience with Linux build systems (Yocto or Buildroot)
  • deep understanding of the Linux kernel, device drivers, bootloaders (esp. U-Boot)
  • experience with hardware bring-up and reading schematics
  • familiarity with debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
  • strong communication skills and proactive mindset
  • English at B2+ level
  • availability to join us within a month
  • Nice to have: experience with BLE, Wi-Fi, or other IoT protocols
  • Nice to have: knowledge of RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS)
  • Nice to have: scripting in Bash or Python
