About the role

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage hardware and software solutions.
  • Implement backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data protection, storage consolidation, and performance solutions in accordance with ITSM processes.
  • Execute storage optimization activities, including upgrades, performance tuning, and system audits.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to government customers and internal delivery teams.
  • Advocate customer storage and infrastructure requirements throughout planning and execution.
  • Partner with Government IT engineering and architecture teams to ensure continuity of storage solutions across customer sites and data centers.
  • Provide technical consultation on enterprise storage architecture and operational solutions aligned to customer requirements.
  • Perform requirements analysis and collect technical details to accurately assess customer environments.
  • Integrate storage platforms into existing IT Service Management (ITSM) data center services and workflows.
  • Advise on ITSM-aligned best practices to improve storage operations, reliability, and supportability.
  • Interpret and deliver enterprise storage assessments, including objectives, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience supporting enterprise SAN, storage, systems, and infrastructure in a DoD environment
  • Dell Certified PowerScale Deploy may be substituted for degree and experience requirements
  • DoD 8140.01 compliant certification (Security+ CE)
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAN administration, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting
  • Expert-level experience supporting EMC Isilon / Dell PowerScale and PowerProtect Data Domain platforms
  • Hands-on experience with storage provisioning, thin provisioning, RAID, SAN troubleshooting, and VMware connectivity
  • Experience with Cisco Fibre Channel, Cisco FCoE, HBA firmware, multipathing software, and SAN fabric management
  • Experience deploying and administering NAS solutions, including NFS, CIFS/SMB, and iSCSI
  • Experience implementing and configuring backup solutions using PowerProtect Data Manager and Data Domain technologies
  • Experience integrating enterprise storage with VMware environments, including datastores, VVols, and SRM
  • 2+ years of experience with VMware storage provisioning and optimization preferred
  • Familiarity with hyperconverged infrastructure and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) on VxRail and NSX is a plus
  • Experience performing data migrations to new storage platforms, including PowerScale migrations using SyncIQ and vCenter to vCenter migrations
  • Experience applying STIGs to storage and backup appliances
