About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and apply engineering, mathematical, simulation, optimization, machine learning, and AI models
- Drive solutions to complex manufacturing and supply chain problems
- Identify and solve complex problems in factory performance, loading, equipment performance, decision science, and supply and distribution networks
- Develop complex engineering models using factory and supply chain knowledge
- Build, develop, validate, and apply decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization models, and simulation models
- Work closely with business units to identify root causes and define strategic and tactical needs
- Drive appropriate business and technical solutions
- Develop solutions using formal technical training, business knowledge, and judgment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Management Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or related discipline
- Focus on deterministic/stochastic optimization modelling and programming
- Solid operations research knowledge, especially linear programming
- Familiarity with production scheduling is a plus
- Programming experience in C# or Python
- Knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server is an advantage
- Good understanding of supply chain management/optimization, especially production planning
- Familiarity with data mining and visualization tools
- Available to work at least 3 days per week onsite
- Able to commit to a minimum 6-month internship
