About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide critical on-site technical support to customers for Altera semiconductor products and solutions.
- Support customer applications work, including design conversions, simulations, system architecture proposals, RTL designs, benchmarking, and proof-of-concept creations.
- Work with silicon interfaces including DSP, memory controllers, PCIe/DMA, SerDes, and networking.
- Support vertical segments including AI, data center, communications, and video.
- Assist sales on critical opportunities and drive design wins.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues at customer sites.
- Provide customers with technical guidance and training on product usage, maintenance, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
- Travel extensively to customer sites.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in a field support, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical role within the semiconductor industry.
- Strong understanding of FPGA architecture, design flows, and development tools (e.g., Quartus Prime).
- Strong design, RTL, and software background and experiences.
- Proficiency in debugging complex hardware and software systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and scripting languages such as Python or Perl is a plus.
