Senior Certified Coding Specialist – Surgical Coding
INTEGRIS HealthCertified Coding Specialist Sr for INTEGRIS Health analyzing clinical and demographic information, assigning medical codes and ensuring compliance with regulations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyzes relevant clinical and demographic information from the Health Information record
- Assigns appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes following appropriate guidelines
- Ascertains compliance with CMS, state and other regulatory agencies
- Provides mentorship and training to onboarding coders
- Completes analysis of documentation and code assignment according to the American Hospital Association Official ICD-10 Coding Guidelines
- Performs queries and obtains documentation required for coding
- Maintains communication with Management and Providers to ensure timely notification of identified documentation issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding and application
- Knowledge of various computer applications including Windows, Excel, healthcare information systems and encoders
- One of the following:
- CCS: Certified Coding Specialist Certification and two years of coding experience
- CPC: Certified Professional Coder and two years of coding experience
- CRC: Certified Risk Adjustment Coder and two years of HCC coding experience
- RHIT: Registered Heath Information Technologist Certification.
- RHIA: Registered Health Information Administrator Certification .
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Oral/Written)
