Works 8a-8p with Staffing Office team providing exceptional care
Responsible for workforce resource management in and across clinical patient care units and inpatient settings
Develops and executes strategic staffing plan centered around unit census, acuity, and workforce matrices
Applies expert knowledge to guide staffing decisions and ensure resources work at top of licensure
Collaborates with front-line decision-makers to create and implement safe staffing solutions
Works closely with facilities Manager on Call, Patient Logistics Center, and facility House Supervisor to orchestrate delivery of patient care
Collects census information and records on board sheets prior to oncoming shift
Communicates with nursing unit management, nursing staff, administrative supervisors, and/or staffing manager to evaluate staffing needs
Assesses changes in patient care unit staffing needs and adjusts plan
Determines work assignments for float pool caregivers based on rapidly-changing factors
Communicates oncoming staffing to patient care areas including supplemental staff assignments or inability to fill vacancies
Collects and enters data daily for reports
Responds to requests for staff coverage and coordinates distribution of staff
Recruits additional staff for open shifts per policies and procedures
Monitors day-to-day fluctuation in staff/census and adjusts staff distribution
Ensures timely communication of work assignments to clinical staff
Responsible for meeting budgetary, compliance, and patient safety guidelines
Monitors staff competency compliance
Manages multiple phone lines, sends and responds to text messages
Thrives in fast-paced environment
Reviews information in Epic EHR to evaluate staffing decisions
Collaborates with Central Bed Planners to guide patient flow
Interprets information in EHR and communicates with Charge Nurses regarding patient acuity
De-escalates tense situations and guides disagreements toward resolution
Documents attendance occurrences and maintains scheduling changes
Performs mathematical computations to determine staffing ratios
Requirements
Typing 40 wpm preferred
1 year experience in a hospital clinical setting, clerical experience and data entry experience preferred
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Medical Terminology preferred
Strong preference for scheduling, timekeeping, or payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
Kronos experience preferred
High School Diploma Required
Associate in Healthcare Administration preferred
If needed, incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle and have a current Oklahoma State Driver’s License as well as a driving record acceptable to insurance carrier
