Assume responsibility for ethical and cost effective management, delivery, documentation, outcomes and communication of patient care within scope of Occupational Therapy.
Interpret referrals; examine, evaluate, and develop and modify occupational therapy plan of care including anticipated goals and expected outcomes.
Perform comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments of assigned patients and document findings.
Coordinate patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication.
Direct Occupational Therapy Assistants to perform specific treatment components and remain responsible for episode of care.
Act as clinical instructor and assist with orientation of new employees or volunteers.
Provide and modify skilled interventions using therapeutic procedures and techniques; initiate corrective actions for abnormal responses.
Produce concise, legible, and timely written reports and documentation.
Plan and provide skilled occupational therapy treatment in home health settings when applicable and maintain required documentation.
Report to assigned Manager or Director; may float to other units, be on-call, work weekends, and handle physical demands and exposure risks associated with rehabilitation work.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
Current Oklahoma Occupational Therapist license OR be eligible for license in the state of Oklahoma and able to practice under the Oklahoma Occupational Therapy Practice Act (must complete licensure within 6 months after initial temporary license; present letter/permit proving eligibility upon hire).
Current BLS or CPR certification upon hire or completion within 30 days of hire required.
Previous relevant experience preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
For Occupational Therapists conducting home evaluations: current Driver's License from state of residence and acceptable driving record.
Aquatics Department: 2 years of experience and aquatic experience preferred; must complete Water Safety Certification within 6 months of hire.
Hand Therapy Department: Certified Hand Therapist preferred.
Therapy Resource Pool: 2 years of experience preferred; may require driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Community Re-entry Department: 2 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation preferred; may require driver's license and acceptable driving record.
