Therapist

• Assume responsibility for ethical and cost effective management, delivery, documentation, outcomes and communication of patient care within scope of Occupational Therapy.
• Interpret referrals; examine, evaluate, and develop and modify occupational therapy plan of care including anticipated goals and expected outcomes.
• Perform comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments of assigned patients and document findings.
• Coordinate patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication.
• Direct Occupational Therapy Assistants to perform specific treatment components and remain responsible for episode of care.
• Act as clinical instructor and assist with orientation of new employees or volunteers.
• Provide and modify skilled interventions using therapeutic procedures and techniques; initiate corrective actions for abnormal responses.
• Produce concise, legible, and timely written reports and documentation.
• Plan and provide skilled occupational therapy treatment in home health settings when applicable and maintain required documentation.
• Report to assigned Manager or Director; may float to other units, be on-call, work weekends, and handle physical demands and exposure risks associated with rehabilitation work.
