Interprets referrals; examines, evaluates, and develops and modifies occupational therapy plan of care including anticipated goals and expected outcomes for patients.
Performs comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments of assigned patients as evidenced by clinical documentation.
Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as noted in the clinical record.
Directs Occupational Therapy Assistants to perform specific components of treatment and interventions and remains responsible for the episode of patient care.
May act as clinical instructor and/or assist with orientation of new employees or volunteers.
Provides and modifies skilled interventions through therapeutic procedures and techniques consistent with diagnosis and prognosis; initiates appropriate corrective actions when abnormal responses are noted.
Maintains concise, legible, and timely written reports and documentation.
Home Health responsibilities: plans and provides skilled occupational therapy treatment in the home, reassessing patient status on each visit and submitting required documentation in a timely manner.
Reports to assigned Manager or Director; may float to other units, be on call, work weekends, or flex schedule; required to work with wheelchairs, walkers, and other rehab equipment daily.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
Current Oklahoma Occupational Therapist license OR be eligible for license in the state of Oklahoma and able to practice under the Oklahoma Occupational Therapy Practice Act; must complete licensure within 6 months after initial temporary license is issued and present letter/permit proving eligibility upon hire.
Current BLS or CPR certification upon hire or completion within 30 days of hire required.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
For Occupational Therapists conducting home evaluations: current Driver's License from state of residence and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier; may require operating INTEGRIS-owned or personal vehicle.
Aquatics Department Only: 2 years of experience and aquatic experience preferred; must complete Water Safety Certification within 6 months of hire date.
Hand Therapy Department Only: Certified Hand Therapist preferred.
Therapy Resource Pool Only: 2 years of experience preferred; may require driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Community Re-entry Department Only: 2 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation preferred; may require driver's license and acceptable driving record.
