About the role
- Interprets referrals; examines, evaluates, and develops and modifies occupational therapy plan of care including anticipated goals and expected outcomes for patients.
- Performs comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments and documents clinical findings.
- Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as noted in the clinical record.
- Directs Occupational Therapy Assistants to perform specific components of treatment and remains responsible for the episode of patient care.
- May act as clinical instructor and assist with orientation of new employees or volunteers.
- Provides and modifies skilled interventions through therapeutic procedures and techniques (Rehab and Mental Health).
- Plans and provides skilled occupational therapy treatment in the home and maintains timely documentation (Home Health).
- Reports to assigned Manager or Director; may float to other units, be on call, work weekends, or follow a flex schedule.
- Regularly works with wheelchairs, walkers, rehab equipment, and may be exposed to pool chemicals, heat/humidity, and other occupational hazards depending on venue.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Current Oklahoma Occupational Therapist license OR be eligible for license in the state of Oklahoma and able to practice under the Oklahoma Occupational Therapy Practice Act; must complete licensure within 6 months after initial temporary license is issued and present letter/permit proving eligibility upon hire.
- Current BLS or CPR certification upon hire or completion within 30 days of hire required.
- Previous relevant experience preferred; specific areas note 2 years preferred for Aquatics, Therapy Resource Pool, and Community Re-entry departments.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
- For Occupational Therapists conducting home evaluations: valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier; may operate INTEGRIS-owned or personal vehicle.
- Aquatics Department: 2 years of experience and aquatic experience preferred; must complete Water Safety Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Hand Therapy Department: Certified Hand Therapist preferred.
- Therapy Resource Pool: 2 years of experience preferred; may require driving as above.
- Community Re-entry Department: 2 years of inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred; may require driving as above.
