About the role
- Implement, configure, and maintain clinical applications, including the electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems, and other clinical software.
- Collaborate with clinical end-users, IT staff, and vendors to identify opportunities for improving clinical workflows and processes using technology.
- Participate in system testing and validation to ensure the clinical applications meet regulatory requirements and user needs.
- Perform system configuration tasks, including customizing Epic applications to align with clinical workflows and organizational requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues with clinical applications, and provide timely resolution to minimize impact on patient care and clinician productivity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Keep up to date with solutions in the EHR System or other clinical application.
- Work collaboratively with operational and medical staff leaders to implement and align strategic initiatives.
- Participate in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions.
- Participate in rounding in collaboration with clinical and business end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or Associate’s with 2 years of experience, or 3 years of healthcare or IT experience.
- Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology.
- Epic Certification is required within 3 months of class completion, and within 6 months of hire; certifications may include: EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Radiant, Cupid, Optime, Anesthesia, Grand Central or other relevant Epic Apps.
- Occasional travel maybe required.
- Previous experience using verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences through a range of modalities.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows and processes, and experience in implementing and supporting clinical software applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to clinical staff members and other stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing preferred.
