Implement, configure, and maintain clinical applications, including the electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems, and other clinical software.
Collaborate with clinical end-users, IT staff, and vendors to identify opportunities for improving clinical workflows and processes using technology.
Participate in system testing and validation to ensure the clinical applications meet regulatory requirements and user needs.
Perform system configuration tasks, including customizing Epic applications to align with clinical workflows and organizational requirements.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues with clinical applications, and provide timely resolution to minimize impact on patient care and clinician productivity.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Keep up to date with solutions in the EHR System or other clinical application.
Work collaboratively with operational and medical staff leaders to implement and align strategic initiatives.
Participate in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions.
Participate in rounding in collaboration with clinical and business end users.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or Associate’s with 2 years of experience, or 3 years of healthcare or IT experience.
Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and terminology.
Epic Certification is required within 3 months of class completion, and within 6 months of hire; certifications may include: EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Radiant, Cupid, Optime, Anesthesia, Grand Central or other relevant Epic Apps.
Occasional travel maybe required.
Previous experience using verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences through a range of modalities.
Knowledge of clinical workflows and processes, and experience in implementing and supporting clinical software applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to clinical staff members and other stakeholders.
Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing preferred.
