About the role

Focus on acquiring data from various sources in a health system ecosystem
Leverage existing data operating system or build environment to acquire data
Define tasks, assignments and standards related to sourcing data and maintaining a stable data platform
Design, develop and implement scalable custom solutions that require extensibility via SSIS, Plugins, APIs, etc.
Oversee bringing new source systems into the data operating system
Coach and train other Data Engineers on best practices and design principles
Schedule, coordinate, and lead design reviews
Participate in internal technology review sessions and provide implementation feedback
Balance tasks and priorities across multiple projects and ensure timely execution
Report to the assigned Director or Vice President
Perform other duties as assigned and comply with physical demand/respiratory fit test requirements as needed

Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or healthcare-related degree
4+ years' experience in healthcare/technology-related field
Ability to code and comprehend code around technologies that deal with acquiring data
1+ experience in the Health Catalyst DO Platform (Preferred)
Experience with processing HL7 messages, CCD documents, and EDI X12 Claims files (Preferred)
Familiarity with development methodologies, including the AGILE development approaches (Preferred)
Experience and/or training in continuous improvement methodologies including Lean & Six Sigma, Change Management, Facilitation Skills and Project Management (Preferred)
