About the role

  • Conduct operational and technical analysis of MAF mission planning systems, including JMPS, JOMS, NOMS, and MAFPS.
  • Evaluate proposed system changes, integration approaches, and modernization requirements to support mission planning capabilities.
  • Provide technical recommendations on requirements definition, prioritization, and feasibility.
  • Support agile software development by analyzing backlog items and advising on impact, scope, and integration with MAF systems.
  • Review testing and fielding plans, ensuring operational needs and mission scenarios are addressed.
  • Participate in working groups, program reviews, and technical interchange meetings to provide analytical input to requirements and system development planning.
  • Develop and refine test metrics and acceptance criteria to validate system capabilities against documented requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between functional users, developers, and acquisition stakeholders to ensure requirements align with system architecture and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related technical field.
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Operations Research is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in systems analysis, systems engineering, or technical evaluation of defense software systems.
  • Direct experience with mission planning systems (JMPS, JOMS, NOMS, or MAFPS).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical analysis and recommendations in support of requirements development and system integration.
  • Annual DoD Cyber Awareness training.
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification strongly preferred.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering certification (CSEP) or similar is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
  • Proficiency in requirements and test management tools (JIRA, DOORS, Jama, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools for evaluating system performance.
