About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately.
- Supervise each payroll and ensure the work done by the payroll processors are reviewed.
- Work with HR and external payroll service providers to streamline payroll processes.
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and practices and suggest steps to implement improvement plans.
- Provide HR with necessary data and information for analysis, reporting and decision making.
- Work with accounting to assist in improving quality and accuracy of data used in reporting and analysis of financial results relating to employee costs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local government requirements and filings.
- Be the primary contact for our global employee population for payroll matters.
- Support projects involving input from payroll, such as implementation of HRIS systems and benefits programs and policies.
- Provide data needed for annual and periodic reporting that require disclosure of compensation information for company executives in SEC filings.
- Advise management on payroll and employee tax implications related to equity incentive plans.
- Be the subject matter expert on payroll related matters on a global basis.
- Implementation and ensuring execution of controls to support SOX compliance in the payroll process.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of hands-on experience in payroll.
- At least 5+ years of experience in a managerial capacity supervising payroll staff.
- Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now (ADP – WFN).
- Experience with working or supervising international payroll (UK, Australia, Singapore and Canada).
- Experience being part of implementation of SOX controls in the payroll process.
- Experience selecting and working with outside payroll service providers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to perform strategic planning and set priorities for a payroll department.
- Proven track record for improving processes and problem-solving.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach and motivate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with NetSuite will be a plus.
- Recent experience working in a dynamic fast-paced tech company environment will be a plus.
