About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately.
  • Supervise each payroll and ensure the work done by the payroll processors are reviewed.
  • Work with HR and external payroll service providers to streamline payroll processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes and practices and suggest steps to implement improvement plans.
  • Provide HR with necessary data and information for analysis, reporting and decision making.
  • Work with accounting to assist in improving quality and accuracy of data used in reporting and analysis of financial results relating to employee costs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local government requirements and filings.
  • Be the primary contact for our global employee population for payroll matters.
  • Support projects involving input from payroll, such as implementation of HRIS systems and benefits programs and policies.
  • Provide data needed for annual and periodic reporting that require disclosure of compensation information for company executives in SEC filings.
  • Advise management on payroll and employee tax implications related to equity incentive plans.
  • Be the subject matter expert on payroll related matters on a global basis.
  • Implementation and ensuring execution of controls to support SOX compliance in the payroll process.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in payroll.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in a managerial capacity supervising payroll staff.
  • Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now (ADP – WFN).
  • Experience with working or supervising international payroll (UK, Australia, Singapore and Canada).
  • Experience being part of implementation of SOX controls in the payroll process.
  • Experience selecting and working with outside payroll service providers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to perform strategic planning and set priorities for a payroll department.
  • Proven track record for improving processes and problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach and motivate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with NetSuite will be a plus.
  • Recent experience working in a dynamic fast-paced tech company environment will be a plus.
