About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy endorsements, and recommend appropriate solutions to maximize business opportunities
Support and advise brokers using a consultative, client-focused approach
Use negotiation skills to close advantageous agreements and maintain long-term business relationships
Actively participate in broker visits, industry events and marketing activities to grow the portfolio
Contribute to the department’s growth objectives
Assess risks rigorously and prepare competitive proposals for new business and renewals
Efficiently manage policy transactions, including renewals, endorsements and submissions
Collaborate with members of the Specialty Solutions team and other divisions across Intact to foster cross-selling opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 2 years of relevant underwriting experience with a proven performance record
Analytical mindset combined with strong sales skills and results orientation
Proactive, ambitious and motivated by meeting and exceeding targets
Ability to take initiative and perform in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach
Demonstrated ability to develop and retain a broker network
Interest in market trends and business development opportunities
PAA designation (Accredited Insurance Professional) or working towards it (an asset)
No prior work experience in Canada required, but must have authorization to work in Canada
