About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in strategic initiatives that enhance pricing sophistication within ratemaking and help explain nationwide performance by supporting earnings call preparation.
  • Deliver actuarial support for large-account pricing across more than 22 lines of business, strengthening governance through indications, rate committees, and corporate planning processes.
  • Drive change by improving work processes, adopting modern technologies and making substantial observations, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Use your expertise to resolve complex problems and help your colleagues in doing the same by sharing your actuarial knowledge.
  • Help guide and prioritize the team’s work and coach effectively to strengthen both individual and group success.
  • Share the conclusions of your analysis to the appropriate stakeholders and make recommendations within the established timelines.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Certifications in Mathematics, Actuarial, ACAS preferred
  • 3 years or more of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector)
  • Good knowledge with Python, VBA, R or SAS
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
