About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and manage the operations of the Ontario in-house Surveillance Investigations team
  • Develop, support and focus on leading an engaged team
  • Review Investigation files and act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters
  • Provide effective leadership, motivate staff and be responsible for hiring employees and delivering performance feedback
  • Review the work and final products of your team; provide coaching, feedback and/or training as required
  • Oversee schedules, manage productivity and ensure Service Level Agreements are met
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence with quality standards
  • Collaborate with leadership nationally to facilitate optimization and alignment of best practices
  • Lead and execute cross-functional projects that align with and advance key business objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • 1+ years in a management role is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to motivate, develop and coach staff
  • Investigation or Loss Prevention experience preferred
  • Experience in adjusting P&C Insurance claims is an asset
  • Investigation experience and familiarity with fraud trends is an asset
  • Familiarity with more than one line of business (AB, BI, Property, Auto) is an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build relationships with all levels of staff
  • A sense of urgency in your work while multitasking
  • Completed or working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
