About the role
- Develop methods to inspire and build a highly effective and engaged team capable of meeting the current and future needs through effective leadership
- Develop, recommend, and implement leadership strategies, organizational structure, and processes/technology improvement initiatives
- Provide effective leadership by continuously keeping staff informed on initiatives and results and share responsibility for the overall performance, productivity, and engagement of team members
- Develop and manage effective working relationships with the Regional Managers and underwriters, as well as your counterparts across the country and across distribution channels
- Act as an ambassador for Corporate Personal Insurance liaising with Operations and Planning, Operational Performance, Sales and Business Development and Claims Management on planning, technical and administrative issues
- Play a key and active role in the selection process and hiring of qualified staff

Requirements
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of strong leadership and management experience
- Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in Personal Lines CIP or FCIP preferred
- Strong knowledge of personal lines products and systems
- Change leadership: implement process improvements and support employees in a positive and structured way during transitions
- Data-driven approach; comfortable with numbers and analysis; Ability to interpret results and translate them into business decisions
- Must be able to monitor competitive practices, industry trends, or other developments impacting business results and make recommendations regarding corporate practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to foster and maintain effective professional relationships at all levels of the organization
- People and/or Project Management experience with strong skills in collaboration, coaching and mentoring, and proven success in team building and managing relationships with a remote team
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with insight into different perspectives and approaches
- Can master multiple priorities under time constraints with a sense of urgency; setting clear objectives and monitor the progress of multiple initiatives and deadlines
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
