About the role
- Manage policy endorsements and cancellations.
- Respond courteously to basic inquiries from brokers.
- Assist underwriters in administering complex policies.
- Apply underwriting strategies in accordance with company guidelines and individual underwriting authority limits.
- Support brokers on underwriting and rating policies.
- Work closely to develop and maintain positive business partnerships with brokers and colleagues.
- Use the computer system for policy inquiries, electronic filing, underwriting and rating operations.
- Make recommendations to improve the department and increase its efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Experience in underwriting (an asset).
- DEC or AEC in Property and Casualty Insurance (an asset).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally gained within a large professional services or business services company.
- Ability to use available resources and take ownership of professional development.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism on a daily basis.
- Highly organized and self-directed to manage workflow effectively without continuous supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate with the ability to work across multiple systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and IT tools.
- Initiative, ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to be a team player, drive change and be a positive leader.
- No Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
