About the role
- Lead and inspire multiple web development squads, fostering performance, cohesion and accountability
- Directly mentor developers, QA engineers and scrum masters, supporting their professional development and progression
- Work closely with product directors, product managers, architects and user experience (UX) teams to transform strategic objectives into concrete digital products
- Align technical and product vision: plan, prioritize and ensure quality of Web deliverables
- Translate business needs and strategic objectives into clear, measurable and inspiring technology initiatives
- Anticipate and resolve technical and organizational obstacles with rigor and agility
- Evolve development practices: continuous integration, test automation, observability, security, performance and developer experience
- Foster innovation and curiosity within teams - challenge the status quo to deliver better, faster and smarter
- Actively collaborate with other Lab tribes, architecture, infrastructure and data teams to build tomorrow's digital platform together
- Guide technology choices and ensure consistency of web and application architectures across squads
- Manage team planning and capacity, while ensuring proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Inspire and embody the Lab's culture of collaboration, continuous learning and accountability
Requirements
- 7+ years' experience in software development, including several years managing multidisciplinary technical teams (developers, QA analysts, scrum masters)
- Solid experience in delivering Web products in an Agile environment (Scrum, SAFe)
- Excellent understanding of modern Web technologies: Java, .NET, Angular, API REST, microservices, integration of external ecosystems, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), cloud computing, application security, observability
- Proven ability to translate business needs into clear, achievable technological directions
- A natural ability to listen, influence and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences - from developers to senior executives
- Curiosity, empathy and a desire to help those around you grow
- Bilingualism required (French and English) - Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
