Key responsibilities & impact

Underwrites risks including the selection and rejection of new and renewal business for the most complex, specialty accounts
Maximizes opportunities for underwriting profitable new and renewal business
Develops and maintains an active target account list
Manages financial performance of all assigned products
Executes underwriting strategy, including portfolio management
Ensures compliance with standards and assigned underwriting authorities
Makes underwriting decisions to accept, decline, or modify risks
Develops superior working relationships with producers
Analyzes trends and implements proactive strategies
Gathers and analyzes competitor information

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
7-10 years of progressively more complex specialty lines underwriting experience
Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU)
