About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and design production features in Rails, TypeScript, and React
- Develop serverless/edge APIs and jobs on AWS (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3/CloudFront, EventBridge/Queues).
- Model data and ship performant Postgres queries (migrations, indexing, connection mgmt, query optimization).
- Write with accessibility (WCAG aware UI) and testing (unit/integration/e2e) in mind
- Participate in code reviews and CI/CD management
- Collaborate with Product/Design and contribute to technical direction.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including time in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Knowledge of AWS for serverless and edge patterns.
- Familiarity with SQL (schema design, query tuning, migrations, understanding of transactions).
- Experience with Rails: RESTful APIs, ActiveRecord, data modeling, and background job processing (Sidekiq or equivalent)
- Strong testing discipline and experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Docker)
- Excellent communication, product sense, and a bias for shipping.
