About the role
- Co-own technical roadmap, design and ship scalable data-intensive systems for Ads Data Solutions at Instacart
- Lead architecture for reusable, scalable systems across off-platform workflows, cleanrooms, taxonomy automation, and the Ads Data Solutions Platform
- Evolve core abstractions, testing, CI/CD, observability, and cost efficiency; proactively drive modernization
- Expand and harden integrations with external advertising platforms and design privacy-forward activation and identity workflows
- Build measurement ingestion pipelines for performance signals (reach, frequency, conversions)
- Extend cleanroom orchestration and governance tooling, develop reusable query templates and partner configurations, and optimize pipelines for cost and performance
- Lead intake automation and release workflow improvements for Ads Taxonomy to reduce manual effort and cycle time
- Assist with platform modernization, developer tooling improvements, and contribute to on-call/SLO strategy
- Use AI-assisted tools daily for design, coding, tests, and docs; define team prompt patterns and AI-first workflows
- Translate ambiguous requirements into pragmatic phases (POC, pilot, production) with clear SLAs/SLOs
- Champion security-by-design, data governance, and privacy compliance across pipelines
- Mentor L4/L5 engineers, set code quality and review standards, and build cross-team partnerships with Ads Manager, Measurement Science, Data Platform, Privacy/Legal, and external platforms
