About the role
- Work with prospective dental school candidates, helping them identify opportunities to enhance their profiles and draft compelling application materials
- Manage relationships with applicants and families while providing strategic and tactical guidance on school selection, personal statements, CVs, recommendations, interviews, and the overall dental school application process
- Identify optimal dental schools and programs for individual students; provide detailed feedback and guidance on their research into specific schools, ensuring alignment with the student’s background, goals, and specialty interests
- Support students with project planning, helping them create and adhere to effective timelines through Excel-based trackers or other tools
- Stay up-to-date on the dental school application process, including ADEA AADSAS, DAT preparation, and program-specific requirements, to advise prospective and existing clients on appropriate school selection and application strategies
Requirements
- 3rd or 4th year dental student, or graduate of a top U.S. dental school
- Experience mentoring students through the dental school application process; admissions committee or selection board experience preferred
- Passion for coaching and mentoring
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills
- Excellent English reading, writing, and editing abilities
- Strong verbal communication skills
