About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Expand and optimize enterprise-wide data and data pipeline architectures
- Collect data from sources across the company
- Develop visualization and reporting strategies
- Implement data pipelines and acquire, transform, and optimize data sets
- Prepare data sets for consumption by internal and external customers
- Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts, data scientists, and business-facing users
- Ensure architectures and strategies remain consistent across projects
- Improve data architecture and visualization strategies for next-generation products and data initiatives
- Build stakeholder relationships and deliver valuable data solutions
- Design and implement process improvements focused on automation, data delivery optimization, self-service, and scalability
- Create and maintain data pipeline architectures
- Assemble large, complex data sets meeting business requirements
- Optimize data acquisition and transformation using SQL and big data technologies
- Enable enterprise-wide visualization and reporting
- Implement self-service and scalable visualization and reporting strategies
- Ensure data security across implementations, data centers, cloud providers, and client machines
- Mentor, train, and inspire team members
- Lead innovation activities and evaluate emerging technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience in the Business Intelligence/Data Engineering field specifically, is desired
- Five to seven years of professional experience in information systems is required
- At least three years’ experience developing, architecting, managing, or maintaining enterprise grade software systems, database administration, or similar discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience
- Strong understanding of Virtual Warehouses, Snowpipe, Dynamic Tables, Streams & Tasks, Secure Data Sharing, clustering and performance optimization
- Experience designing scalable Customer 360 data models
- Knowledge of RBAC and data security controls
- 2+ years of dbt development experience
- Strong experience with Incremental Models, Snapshots, Seeds, Macros, Tests, Sources, and Exposures
- Experience implementing Medallion Architecture: Bronze (Raw), Silver (Conformed), Gold (Business-Ready)
- Experience with CI/CD deployment using dbt Cloud or GitHub Actions
- Experience ingesting data from CRM platforms, marketing automation platforms, web analytics platforms, advertising platforms, and product usage event data
- Excellent understanding and practical experience with MSSQL and other relational databases
- Proficient with unstructured NoSQL data storage tools and techniques
- Excellent working and functional knowledge of database architecture concepts and enterprise technology architecture and design
- Understanding of Hadoop, Redshift, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks, and related technologies
- Strong leadership, teamwork, collaboration, consensus-building, customer service, verbal and written communication, technical documentation, and continuous improvement skills
