About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deploy Insite IT and PAYG smart metering systems on new build and residential sites.
- Configure and maintain AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) systems including dataloggers, gateways, routers, repeaters, and IP power devices.
- Retrofit and rewire existing Credit & PrePayment systems for optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with smart metering and RF networks.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and respond to callouts.
- Work closely with third parties, including ISPs, BT, and cloud service providers, to ensure smooth system operation.
- Provide expert technical advice to internal teams and clients.
- Deliver hands-on training to ensure confident, compliant system use and upkeep.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience with smart metering systems, RF networks, or similar field-based technologies is preferred.
- 18th Edition, wiring regs and Part P (ideal but not essential).
- Confident in working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
- Competent in the use of laptops/tablets for system configurations and reporting (training provided).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
- A valid, clear UK driving licence.
- Basic DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service).
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Hold a valid CSCS card (or be able to obtain one).
