About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deploy Insite IT and PAYG smart metering systems on new build and residential sites.
  • Configure and maintain AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) systems including dataloggers, gateways, routers, repeaters, and IP power devices.
  • Retrofit and rewire existing Credit & PrePayment systems for optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with smart metering and RF networks.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and respond to callouts.
  • Work closely with third parties, including ISPs, BT, and cloud service providers, to ensure smooth system operation.
  • Provide expert technical advice to internal teams and clients.
  • Deliver hands-on training to ensure confident, compliant system use and upkeep.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience with smart metering systems, RF networks, or similar field-based technologies is preferred.
  • 18th Edition, wiring regs and Part P (ideal but not essential)
  • Confident in working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in the use of laptops/tablets for system configurations and reporting (training provided).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • A valid, clear UK driving licence.
  • Basic DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Hold a valid CSCS card (or be able to obtain one).
