About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary liaison between the Compliance and Product teams
- Coordinate and execute technical systems projects and updates
- Manage and maintain internal system settings for accuracy and compliance alignment
- Research, track, and maintain state laws and regulations
- Prepare reports and present compliance updates to leadership
- Ensure compliance requirements are met across all states and jurisdictions
- Assist in implementing training for regulatory changes
- Coordinate project plan activities, meetings, documentation, milestones, and action items
- Respond to Jira tickets and coordinate escalated client issues with customer service and cross-functional teams
- Provide customer service and maintain relationships with states, carriers, and clients
- Support customers with technical issues through troubleshooting, resolution, and follow-up
- Create, maintain, and audit SOPs and Confluence documentation
- Leverage AI tools to create compliance workflows, draft documentation, and support planning and communication
- Participate in initiatives to automate tasks and workflows
- Support the Compliance Manager and VP of Tax Compliance with ad hoc requests and special projects
- Stay current on compliance trends, regulatory updates, and emerging AI tools
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry
- 2+ years of experience in surplus lines filing, accounting, or compliance
- Comprehensive understanding of surplus lines compliance requirements across all 50 states and U.S. territories
- 2+ years of experience in project management or process coordination
- Strong technical aptitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Confluence, and Jira
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or similar, in daily workflows
- Enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and automation/process improvement initiatives
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Industry certification (SILA, ASLI, ARC, CPCU, or equivalent) preferred
