About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the technical architecture and delivery strategy for complex customer engagements from discovery through go-live and expansion
Advise customer engineering and IT leadership on Inriver’s role in their systems landscape
Design and build integrations and workflows connecting Inriver with ERP/PLM systems, DAM, and downstream commerce and syndication channels
Model enterprise-scale product data structures, including categories, attributes, relationships, and localization
Lead rapid prototyping for onboarding, migrations, and customer pilots
Write production-quality platform enhancements, connectors, extensions, and internal tools
Mentor and technically guide other Forward Deployed Engineers
Represent the senior technical voice of the customer internally and influence product and platform roadmap decisions
Own escalated production issues and lead real-time debugging with customer engineering teams
Travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 20–40% depending on account load

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or a related technical/customer-facing role
Experience owning complex technical engagements
Deep coding skills in at least one modern language such as Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or C#
Extensive experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and enterprise integration patterns including ETL, middleware, and iPaaS
Track record of leading technical relationships with enterprise customers and advising customer executives
Ability to reason about complex data models, including attributes, taxonomies, and relationships
Experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers
Ability to architect for scale and maintainability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern enterprise-scale deployment practices
Comfort with ambiguity and high-stakes customer environments
Nice to have: experience with PIM, MDM, DAM, product data platforms, ERP/PLM integrations, ecommerce or marketplace syndication, compliance-heavy product domains, forward-deployed or solutions architecture leadership, and pre-sales or enterprise solutioning
