About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the data governance office in defining and developing policies, standards, processes, and metrics
  • Develop quality data practices and define acceptable thresholds for success with business stakeholders
  • Recommend and implement strategies to promote a data-driven culture
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess data understanding and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop governance documentation, standards, and guidance for consistent data usage
  • Maintain awareness of data asset inventories, catalogs, business glossaries, data lineage, and data architecture documentation
  • Monitor metrics related to use of data assets
  • Provide practice knowledge guidance to junior analysts as needed
  • Support data access controls across analytics and enterprise platforms
  • Review and validate access requests for production/non-production systems, reports, dashboards, and data extracts
  • Apply role-based access governance and least-privilege standards while identifying risk gaps or policy exceptions
  • Partner with Information Security, Compliance, Audit, and technical teams on governance reviews and remediation
  • Support governance decisions related to data sharing, outbound data usage, and sensitive data handling
  • Maintain and improve governance controls, documentation standards, and audit readiness processes
  • Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities related to data governance and access management
  • Partner with Information Security and IT to align governance processes with security policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree OR 2 years of relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience requirement
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare or business environment
  • 2 years of experience working with data access, data quality, or metadata management processes, or with data governance, data management, or analytics operations
  • EPIC certified within six months of hire
  • Preferred: analytics security administration and user access management
  • Preferred: role-based access control (RBAC), security provisioning, and permission management
  • Preferred: Epic analytics security experience, including Cogito, Radar, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, or related Epic security experience
  • Preferred: troubleshooting user access issues and partnering with technical teams
  • Preferred: understanding of least-privilege access principles, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Preferred: Active Directory/security groups and access request workflows
  • Preferred: documentation of security standards, access procedures, and governance processes
