Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and lead regulatory strategy and positioning while ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
Monitor regulatory changes, prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies like the Ontario Energy Board.
Collaborate with various internal teams to develop strategies that align operational practices with regulatory requirements.
Advocate and influence regulatory bodies (e.g., OEB) to support organizational positions.
Ensure organization adheres to provincial and federal regulations.
Develop and update internal policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Oversee regulatory financial accounts and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Manage responses to compliance breaches or regulatory inquiries, including investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
Deliver regulatory reports, presentations, and recommendations to the executive team.

Requirements

What you’ll need

University Degree in Business Administration/Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.
Professional accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA, CPA) or equivalent is desired.
Strong proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced financial reporting tools.
Minimum of five years of senior regulatory management experience.
Financial Analysis Skills: Proficiency in analyzing financial data to support regulatory filings, including Cost of Service (COS) and Incentive Rate-Setting Mechanism (IRM) applications.
Experience in budgeting processes and financial forecasting related to regulatory impacts.
