About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Report directly to the Chief Legal and Privacy Officer as the legal function’s second-in-command
Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, partnership, and other commercial agreements
Partner with Sales, Partnerships, and Product to structure deals balancing business goals and legal risk
Improve contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation protocols
Support customer, partner, and vendor due diligence, especially on privacy and information security
Advise on CCPA, state privacy laws, ad-tech standards, AI/ML data use, AI regulation, and responsible-AI governance
Maintain privacy policies, consent mechanisms, and data governance practices
Monitor privacy and AI regulatory developments and identify emerging risks
Advise Human Resources on employment matters, policies, terminations, leave, accommodations, investigations, and disputes
Support entity governance, corporate formalities, recordkeeping, financings, acquisitions, divestitures, communications, facilities, insurance, and risk management
Advise the Chief Legal and Privacy Officer and Chief Financial Officer on legal strategy, processes, and priorities
Help build the legal function through process improvement and knowledge-sharing
Mentor attorneys and legal staff, with potential formal management responsibility
Own cross-functional legal initiatives and improve contracting velocity, privacy practices, and AI-risk management

Requirements

What you’ll need

JD from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where you reside
Significant in-house generalist experience
Ability to work confidently across commercial contracts, privacy, employment, and general corporate law
Eagerness to develop competencies in privacy, intellectual property, commercial contracts, and employment law
High standards of excellence and ethics, discretion, strict confidentiality, and excellent judgment
Flexibility, adaptability, and a business-minded approach to legal risk
Drive, tenacity, integrity, trustworthiness, relevant experience, and low ego
Interest in InMarket’s business, values, ad tech, data, and consumer intelligence
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
