About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for all legal matters for InkuPlay
  • Act as the primary legal contact for executive management and work closely with People & Culture, Partnerships, Sales, Marketing, Esports Operations, Finance, IT and Compliance
  • Develop a scalable legal function
  • Manage external law firms and ensure business decisions are legally sound, commercially sensible and implemented promptly
  • Early identification, assessment and management of legal risks
  • Provide legal support for strategic projects, partnerships, investments and new business models
  • Draft, review and negotiate domestic and international contracts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed law degree with First and Second State Examinations (fully qualified lawyer)
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in a commercial law firm, in-house legal department or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of general contract and commercial law
  • Ideally additional experience in employment, corporate, IT, data protection, media or IP law
  • Proven experience independently negotiating complex contracts
  • Excellent commercial and business acumen
  • Ability to not only identify legal risks but to develop practical solutions
  • High level of autonomy, resilience and sense of responsibility
  • Clear, precise and audience-appropriate communication
  • Fluent German and English (negotiation-level)
  • Confident use of digital workflows and modern legal‑tech solutions
  • Particularly attractive profile if you have built or scaled a legal department, have experience in a startup, scale-up or digital business model, are familiar with gaming, esports, entertainment, media or the creator economy, have handled international contracts and cross-border matters, have managed external law firms and complex litigation, and combine legal quality with pragmatism and speed of execution.
