About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate with healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, and payers to ensure patients gain access to their prescribed medication, understand cost support options, understand educational materials, and receive personalized support throughout their treatment journey
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers who have been prescribed medication to provide personalized support on their treatment journey
- Serve as a point of contact for HCPs for support for enrollments into patient support programs
- Guide patients and/or caregivers through the post-prescription process including enrollment into support programs, benefits verification, prior authorization, financial assistance, and therapy initiation
- Provide education on program offerings, insurance process, disease state and treatment using approved materials
- Manage assigned patient cases from referral through therapy initiation, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant case progression
- Conduct benefits investigations to determine insurance coverage, prior authorization requirements, and patient financial responsibility
- Manage the prior authorization and appeals process, including obtaining plan-specific criteria and requirements, initiating, submitting, and tracking requests, and following up with plans, patients, and HCPs as needed to ensure timely outcomes
- Proactively identify and address barriers to therapy, including financial, clinical, and adherence challenges
- Support medication adherence and ongoing patient engagement through a series of touchpoints
- Coordinate with providers, pharmacies, and internal teams to ensure seamless care
- Document all patient interactions and outcomes in compliance with program requirements
- Monitor case progress and escalate complex reimbursement issues as needed
- Participate in quality initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and privacy requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active, unrestricted RN license required
- 3+ years of clinical nursing
- 3+ years of experience in dermatology or immunology preferred
- 2-5 years of case management and patient support experience
- Experience in case management, patient access, HUB services, or specialty pharmacy preferred
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems and patient advocacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a patient caseload independently
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a virtual or call center environment
