Area Sales Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You develop and strengthen the market position through an active sales presence with customers
- You are responsible for strategic customer development by identifying potential and needs and deriving goal- and results-oriented sales measures
- You provide product and application consulting regarding product optimization, operating costs, energy efficiency, stocking concepts, service and maintenance contracts, and the development of customer-specific solutions
- You win back customers who are being supplied with spare parts by alternative suppliers
- You conduct sales negotiations, including technical and commercial contract review
- You manage internal interfaces to ensure processes for quotations and orders
- In cooperation with Customer Service, you are responsible for establishing and expanding a service infrastructure in the sales territory through the implementation of external service partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ideally, you hold a technical degree or have completed technical vocational training
- You have several years of field sales experience with a manufacturing company, ideally in mechanical and plant engineering or another technically innovative environment
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors is an advantage: Mining, Food & Beverage, Wastewater, Oil & Gas
- You are able to manage your tasks independently and align them commercially using key performance indicators
- You demonstrate an independent, goal-oriented working style and confident, persuasive communication
- You are a team player with a high level of self-motivation
- You have strong closing skills and pronounced negotiation abilities
- Excellent German (negotiation-level) and good business-level English language skills
- You are highly proficient with common Microsoft Office applications
- You are customer-focused and bring high commitment and willingness to travel
