About the role
- Develop and implement the global SOC vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the bank’s overall cybersecurity objectives
- Direct 24/7 SOC operations, including threat monitoring, incident detection, response, and escalation procedures
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing global SOC team; foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Oversee the selection, deployment, and optimization of security monitoring tools, SIEM solutions, and automation platforms
- Coordinate the response to major security incidents, ensuring timely communication and resolution
- Work closely with IT, risk management, compliance, and business units to ensure effective incident response and risk mitigation
- Define SOC KPIs, deliver regular reports to executive leadership, and recommend improvements
- Ensure SOC operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies (e.g., FFIEC, GDPR, SOX)
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
- 10+ years in information security, with at least 5 years in SOC leadership roles within the banking or financial services sector
- Proven experience managing global teams and complex multi-regional SOC environments
- Strong knowledge of security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, SIEM, and security automation
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, SANS)
- Excellent communication, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
