About the role

  • Line and technical leadership of a software engineering organization (over 60 employees, including direct reports)
  • Define, implement and further develop the technology strategy for our existing aviation products, including cloud enablement, architectural decisions, scalability and modernization
  • Introduce and enforce the use of AI coding tools in development, QA and delivery
  • Design, manage and continuously improve software delivery processes, including CI/CD, DevOps collaboration, automation and KPI-based performance measurement
  • Close coordination with product management, delivery and management committees on resource planning, prioritization, release management, innovation roadmap and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Electrical Engineering or a comparable field
  • Extensive leadership experience in the software industry (ideally SaaS)
  • Proven expertise in software development, cloud architectures, CI/CD, DevOps, agile methods and software quality assurance
  • Several years of experience in end-to-end development of complex software-based products
  • Demonstrable ability to lead teams in a motivating and visionary way through change processes, including the introduction of new tools such as AI coding
  • Strong strategic thinking, an entrepreneurial mindset, and persuasive facilitation and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholder management
  • High level of independence, customer orientation, quick onboarding on aviation topics, business-fluent German and English, willingness to travel
  • Experience stabilizing and modernizing legacy products
  • Knowledge of the aviation environment or related industries
